Little one

A little girl is born,
Shedding the burden of adulthood.
Her Daddy has freed her,
Letting her finally be herself.
Eyes looking to the future,
Yearning to learn and explore.

Most of her life she's been in bondage.
Always having to be the dependable one.
Responsible.
In charge.
Everyone's mother hen.

Well now it's her turn.
Innocence unleashed.
Letting go of the past.
Letting go of the fear.
It's time to give it all away, to another,
And be that little girl,
Made possible by her Daddy,
Soar little one, fly to me.
